Cormac McCarthy
A remarkably simple, yet epically profound and stark view into a dismal future.

A father and his young son walk down a road following some cataclysmic, post-apocalyptic event. The entire landscape is burning, few have survived, and those few who remain are just trying to not die, but in reality have little hope.

There are so many things which make this book awesome. It never tries to explain what happened or how the story got here, it just explains how things are. That's the philosophy that McCarthy appears to try to convey. It shows how simple humanity between two connected individuals can inspire their survival despite all the death and destruction surrounding them.

This book evokes a number of emotions, from joy to horror to extreme sadness. I read it in under two days because I couldn't put it down. It's for sure destined to become a classic.
