A Geeky Co-Worker chastised me recently for referring to myself as "geeky". She said that the only geeky element of my personality is my "dilettante" nature. Here's where I may prove her wrong.

Well, I've read it. No I'm not a geek. I do think that it's better than most (if not all) superhero movies.

When I did the pre-show/intermission "music" for Mercury Players production of "the Pillowman" I recorded Pete Rydberg reading "Stuwwelpeter" and added a shimmery metallic backing-track to it. I've always loved this book. Be good or die horribly.
Hallo Everyone,

I've been busy, so I've just started reading again. Mercury Players (the theatre company I've been associated w/ most over the past 10 years or so) held a competition for a new work to produce and attracted hundred of scripts. "Celeste and Starla Save Todd and Win Back the Day" was the winner. It's by the Portland playwrite, Francesca Sanders. This play is magnificent. I know that most of you have noticed that the plays I work on tend to be in the murder and misery camp. This one is different. It's an absurdist comedy fantasia. Imagine a surrealist Nancy Drew in a play written by Salvador Dali and starring the Marx Bros. It's hilarious, bizarre and relentless. It's gonna open in June, so come see it. I adore this play.

It's been nice to come back to theatre. Now that "the Pillowman" has finished it's run, I've just gotta say that it was great to come back to theatre w/ a show such as that. It's extremely rare to be part of a show where 1) every element of the production is good. 2) Everyone gets along and there aren't any ego clashes. 3) The critics love it 4) We get big audiences who also love it. Granted, my time away from theatre and w/ ATOY will always be treasured by me...despite whilst being a member of that band is akin to banging one's head against a wall...and the wall is made of sandpaper w/ thumbtacks sticking out of it, it's nice to be back.
