My first re-read of this book in probably more than a decade. This was one of the books (if not THE book) to launch the cyberpunk genre: one part dystopia plus one part sci-fi, shaken, not stirred.

William Gibson's vision of computing was pretty amazing given that the book is almost twenty-five years old. More from the "new" Anne Rice on the life of Jesus. This one explores the events leading up to the wedding in Cana (John 2), including the baptism in the river Jordan, the temptation in the wilderness, and the calling of the disciples. Not nearly as good as the Alatriste series. The rambling philosophical dialogues (the most annoying of which didn't even bother with quotation marks) detracted from the well-described settings and plot elements.
