The complete Goldberg Variations, the late, and to my mind, highly superior recording by the inimitable Glenn Gould. A fascinating document.
The Goldberg Variations

For anybody who hasn't heard, 'Pen Pusher' is a new high quality literary magazine published out of London and available in the better bookshops. Up-to-the minute, cheeky, elegant prose and poetry as well as reviews and such features as 'Literary London'. (Yes, I'm in it too!)
Pen Pusher

(Apropos Trio - Opus 100) Yes, this is a wonderful piece. Supposedly Schubert borrowed the theme from an old Swedish folk tune, but it's what he does with it of course that renders it so heartbreaking. It was also used prominently in an Austrian biopic about Schubert, I seem to recall.
(Apropos Badura-Skoda) Lovely refined playing, as always. Here's something that drives me crazy with delight.
Piano Sonata D.960 (Alfred Brendel)
