The writing is just okay -- not bad, but not great, either -- but the story is fantastic, and once it got into its own groove about 200 pages in, and the vampire stuff really kicked into gear, it was an absolute page-turner. Though I do wish Edward and Bella would just DO IT already. Oh well. It's a book about teen love written by a Mormon...what do you expect? Totally not what I was expecting...in a good way. A very smart read, incredibly well-written, surprisingly political and philosophical and atheistic.
