I was so disappointed by the sequel that I tossed both books away and haven't looked at them since. Perhaps I was just angry because she didn't wind up with the guy I wanted her to (don't worry, I won't say who), but I think it was more than that. I'm not sure. My suggestion is to read this book and forgo the sequel if you can, because this book stands well by itself.(less) "

The illustrations are soft which contrasts with the 'scary' rather nicely. There are Japanese symbols on some of the items which my kids thought was cool.

We read this a trillion times or more before returning it to the library. And we've checked it out many, many times.

A real favorite at our house.(less) "
