I liked this book! I read it a long time ago, and I don't remember much about it, so I'd like to read it again. It does have a few (well, a lot of) innaproppriate parts in it, but if you can get past those things it's a book worth reading. It really answers a lot of questions about the Wizard of Oz (if you dare questioning anything in a classic) and gives you a lot of backround. It really shows you that things aren't always how they seem. Just a warning to all of my musical lovers, this is not like the broadway version!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The musical is very lighthearted. It's good, but this book is very dark - especially the ending. From about half way to the end of the book is left out of the musical probably because it's a very happy, "let's sing about it" material. It's good to read about what the end is, but it's not what you would be expecting. I enjoyed it and I hope others will too. But I'm re-reading it right now, since I just saw Wicked on stage (IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), and it was hard to compare it to the book I don't remember much about, but I think I'm enjoying it even more than I did the first time. ]]>
