I learned about Auslander's text in 2010 and hoped for something directly addressing my experience of the world at that point. Sadly, it didn't.

You're right, I was rating it in terms of what I hoped for: something relevant ca 2010. Maybe I was confused since the Routledge edition was 2005 (post-internet). The original text is from 1999.

Just saying: don't expect anything in the book referring to media/technolgical culture post 1999. Meaning we don't get any discussion of the internet. This was a disappointment for me in a book about "liveness".

Any other suggestions of great books on the topic?(less) "
