Yes, I love Christopher Moore, but this book is so uneven it gets 3 stars. Or more 3.5 stars. One of his weaker outings amonst quite strong recent novels, I still highly suggest it for those who are fans of his humor. Moore simply can't be bad, just ...more

Reader-ramble and 2 other people liked Rebeca's status update
Rebeca
Rebeca is on page 89 of 404 of Throne of Glass: I don't think, in theory, most people would have had a problem with Celaena acting like a silly teenage girl who wants to show off and be recognized...EXCEPT she's the master assassin of the entire kingdom. How do you get to that kind of reputation if you act the exact opposite of subtle and deceiving? In fact, if you're an assassin and everyone knows your name...you've failed. Big time.
Kelly (and the Book Boar)
Kelly (and the Book Boar) is 18% done with Prince of Thorns: "You stabbed Count Renar's son under a flag of truce," he said.

"I did," I said. "I can't think of anything I wouldn't have stabbed him under."

Description: Before I get to the actual story, I should say this is not quite Hunger Games fan fiction. I needed to practice using third person present tense because I plan on using it for a future novel. Inspired by a book reviewer I like, I decided to try and make the killing-kids-scenario, well, make sense. I’m probably going to fail, but at least I tried. I will also do very little research since this is a vomit draft I punched out for practice. You will also not find any of the Hunger Games characters in here, but this is totally not original enough to make money off of. It's still the exact same plot. Almost. I’m sharing it with you because I’m a crazy writer who wants to share. Steal it, and I will summon some dark force to invade your nightmares and devour your pitiful dreams. Cthulhu seems popular, but I’ve always been partial to Lucifer myself. He’s more into mind games, less into the rend and tear. If you like it, don’t be a stranger. Share it, tell me you want to have it’s babies, whatever. Just don’t be quiet. No one likes a lurker.
