I was all jazzed about this book and then some things really bothered me. Like she claimed to live in San Francisco, but knew nothing about San Francisco. The story when she is in Templeton is a good one though. If we did not live in the Bay Area, I would say... My local library has vending machines with chips, candy, water, soft drinks and sports drinks. Of course it is right across the street from an elementary school, so it is a place some kids go and do homework (they offer a homework club with free tutoring) or hang out and be safe until their parents can pick them up. Hungry kids need snacks right.
