LOL! Love it. That book was crazy. I loved the relationships that evolved throughout the book and thought the author did an awesome job of describing teenage friendships. I also loved the very important back-burner role the parents played. Was totally NOT expecting the ending either- whoa. An english teacher in my school does this book with the kids and it always makes a huge impact since most of the kids have struggled with some part of the traumas in this book. My favorite character was the teacher who kept giving him books to read, and how his character evolved. He was at first sad and insecure and kind of used his relationship with the main character (who's name escapes me- oh wait, Charlie) to bring himself out of it. Perfect example of how working with teenagers helps us work out our own stuff too. By the end he is his own man and can help Charlie and tell Charlie what he needs to hear, and can support him better.
