I think I am giving this book 3 stars, though I wish I could give it 3.5. It was disappointing to read this one after the awesome Dance, Dance, Dance novel. I just don't think the book worked well with the length it was given (213 pgs). There was so much in here, but nothing was developed enough, I guess? You get this sort of mystery that ends suddenly, and you also never really get to know the characters. It was all very abrupt, and although I like Murakami's language and writing style, I felt kind of cheated in the end. I will read another one of his books, but I won't pick up this one again.
