This is one Mary reviewed for ALAN a bit ago. Did you like it? I thought it was pretty interesting. It made me want to read Clements' other books as well.

Oooh, I just read this and I loved it. I liked it because it uses The Jungle Book as a springboard for the main storyline. It could be used as a bridge to help kids get into the classics. It's very clever. I hope you like it.

Interesting perspective, but once I figured out where the author was coming from I was able to predict the rest of the book down to the very end. This disappointed me a little because I wanted to escape into the book and be surprised. I will and already have leant my book to three others, and I'll probably read it again because there are some strong parallels with Meyer's other YA novels, but other than re-reading it to guess what will happen in Meyer's <em><a href="http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1162543.Breaking_Dawn_The_Twilight_Saga_Book_4_" title="Breaking Dawn (The Twilight Saga, Book 4) by Stephenie Meyer">Breaking Dawn</a></em>, I probably won't pick it up again.

Oh my gosh, I'm so embarrassed! The actual title is There's a Wocket in my Pocket. No wonder I couldn't find it! Sorry about that. Thanks for your comment though, I have a board book version that is abridged and I didn't know about the Vug under the Rug. I'm going to have to purchase the original version to read to Vincent as I'm sure he has our abridged version memorized by now. :)

What was the Snort's motivation for placing the baby bird back in the nest? That just came too fast for me. Maybe because the version I own is a board book--I think the story may have been abridged to fit within a board book's formatting guidelines. I chuckle each time I read this book because I wonder about the complex this poor baby bird will have when it hatches to find itself alone. And then when the mother returns, there is no remorse for her absence when her child enters the world! And then, why can some animals talk while others cannot? At least the kitten did not eat the bird. That's one thing to be thankful for--that and the afore mentioned Deux ex Machina that brought the bird and his mother back together. (Is that the correct use/spelling of that term?) Okay, seriously though; my favorite part of the book has to be the line, &quot;I know who you are!...You are my mother!&quot; That is pretty heart-warming.

Who knew that a book about feet could be so fun? I love reading this book aloud with my baby and helping him move his feet to copy what the text is saying. When he places the book in my lap and climbs over to sit next to me he starts kicking his little feet to show that he really knows what the topic of the book is. He's only one year old! Dr. Seuss is a genius.

This is another book that makes my kid dance! The rhythm is so strong and the word choice so lyrical that I really can't help but try to sing the book with a country twang. What's even better is the version I purchased had a CD with the words set to music. It is fantastic. I danced to it with my little boy tonight and we had a great time.

My sister introduced me to Boynton and I am forever grateful. Her books have a subtle humor that adults can appreciate enough to carry them through a twentieth, or thirtieth reading of the book in order to humor a child with a two-minute attention span. I LOVE the illustrations as well. I think I like them because they are so simple, yet the characters have so much personality. Anything by Boynton is fantastic.

I've loved this book since I was a kid myself. My favorite page is the one which reads, &quot;Rings on fingers/Rings on thumb/Drum drum drum drum/Drum drum drum.&quot; It's a classic. The rhythm is so strong that each time I read it with my one-year-old, he begins to dance.

I can't believe this book is really this hard to find! I love it, and I'm so happy I had such an easy time actually buying the book compared to trying to find it on goodreads. I enjoy this book so much because as the boy introduces his various hidden friends to the reader, he gives the reasons why he enjoys those friends. Little kids can see and learn from the attributes of these hidden friends and learn that being like the Zillow is a much better choice than being like the Bofa or Noothgrush.
