[close] Michelle Richmond is the author of the New York Times bestseller The Year of Fog, the award-winning story collection The Girl in the Fall-Away Dress, and the novel Dream of the Blue Room. Her third novel, No One You Know, will be published by Delacorte in July of 2008.

Her stories and essays have appeared in Glimmer Train, Playboy, The Missouri Review, The Kenyon Review, Oxford American, and elsewhere. Her books have been translated into seven languages. The Year of Fog is currently in development with Newmarket Films.

A native of Mobile, Alabama, Michelle makes her home in San Francisco, where she teaches in the MFA program in writing at California College of the Arts. She has also taught in the MFA programs at the University of San Francisco, St. Mary's College of Moraga, and Bowling Green State University. She publishes the online literary journal Fiction Attic and the blog Sans Serif.
