This novel was very sweet and good. It wasn't as light as I first suspected, though it is light, but it has some weighty themes to it. It also kept me guessing on the romance front, which was a nice surprise. I highly recommend this book. The drawings are amazing and haunting, as is the story. A little bit scary, actually. My son has read all these, many times. I need some lightness, so I read the first one. Pretty funny, kind of cute, with a definite kid's sense of humor. I'm interested to see how the author develops the structure or idea over the series. It was fun to read. I laughed out loud a few times, and my son always had to look over and see what I was laughing at. ]]>
