I read this series for the first time back in the 1970s when I was around 12. I love the environment the writer created for the characters and have reread the series about 100 times since I first found them. I wish a good animated movie would come out that would do the series justice.

I read this book annually it seems, so far three times. Well, I reread this author frequently because I always get something new out of each reading. there is a richness to his work that goes beyond entertainment and scifi in general. The only series of his I have not been able to get into yet are the Alvin Maker books and the series about the women in the bible.
