Really, really nicely done. I thought, as I'm sure many people did, "Crumb? Doing the Bible? This has got to be totally tongue in cheek." But it's not at all irreverant - as Crumb says in the introduction, he treated the project as a straight illustration job, and you can tell that he was really engaged with both the text and the process of illustrating it. Nicely illustrated and lighthearted glance at 19th and 20th century cannon artists, with plenty of People magazine-esque anecdotes. My favorite had to be Jackson Pollock getting hammered during the installation of one of his paintings in Peggy Guggenheim's house, and then urinating into her fireplace during the subsequent party.
