This book had me in tears. I dont read animal books normally - I cant handle it when they are hurt, scared, in danger... or (gulp) die. I came across this book during a recent Amazon search for something to read. It received quite high marks, so I thought what the heck - just this once.

I found Stacey and Wesley's story endearing. Stacey isn't a writer, but I couldnt put this book down - I wanted to read more about Wesley to see what he would do next!

It totally is a love story - if you have ever had a pet - you will understand.

Ned Allen is young, smart, and upwardly mobile. Several years into his career as an ad salesman for a successful computer magazine, Ned's finally left his small-town roots behind, and is certain that the sophisticated Manhattan world he covets is his forever. His wife Lizzie is also a rising star of a prestigious PR firm. It seems that Ned's made it. But then what appeared to be a career break shows its true colours. Ned's forced to make some tough calls, among them a question of ethics and the small matter of whether to lie to his wife - and when the tough calls just keep getting tougher he finds himself on the brink of losing everything ...

This might actually be, the best Douglas Kennedy novel. Ever. Another page turner, I found myself thinking about this book even when i wasn't reading it (which of course, cause me to pick it up and keep reading).

Douglas Kennedy is a master. Read this book.

Ben Bradford, seems to have it all. A beautiful wife, a big suburban home, two kids and a partnership in a prestigious New York Wall Street Law Firm. Then, of course, it all turns to mush.

This book is a real page turner. It was the 3rd Kennedy book I had read (the first 2 books were written from a women's perspective, this one from a man's), and quite different from the others. This man knows how to keep you entertained!

As I keep saying - get your hands on anything written by Douglas Kennedy!

Douglas Kennedy is one of my favorite authors - I will read anything he writes. Sometimes when you have a favorite author, you run the risk they will write subject matter that is a little too close to home. This was one of those books for me. Loved it, devoured it, but had to put it down occasionally to catch my breath.

Sally is a journalist based in Cairo, meets and falls in love with and English foreign correspondent. They get pregnant, get married, then things start to go wrong.

Kennedy has a way of opening up his characters so you feel their pain (and happiness) as if it were your own. Get your hands on one of his novel, you wont be disappointed!

I picked this up in New Zealand. My first Douglas Kennedy experience - and definitely not my last! This guy can write! Pursuit of Happiness is written in the first person from a women's perspective, set in America during the McCarthy era. It tells the tales of the ups and downs of Sara, her brother Eric, and Jack Malone - a wayward stranger who turns up at Eric's New Years eve party.

I couldn't put this book down. Until it ended. Then I went to amazon.co.uk and ordered more Douglas Kennedy!

If you cant get your hands on this book - try his others - they are all exceptional!
