It's probably wrong for me, as a self-respecting female, to admit that I not only laughed out loud multiple times while I read this book, but also loved it. This is the absolute frat-guy Bible, with stories in it that would probably make a lot of people blush, but it's written in such an honest, hilarious guy point of view, that you can't help but laugh. Definitely not one to be taken too seriously! ...less

This book has a lot going for it - humor, self-reflection, more humor, and some pure honesty all rolled up together in one neat little package. I felt pretty zen after reading this and kind of wanted to go on my own spiritual journey! I had picked this book up several times at the book store, but for some reason always put it back. I think I wasn't sure what it was about, but I'm very glad I picked it back up. It's great to kind of take a look at yourself after you read this book and question whether you'd ever really be able to make that kind of committment to your own physical and spiritual health. ...less

"Again, another hysterically funny look at life from Jen Lancaster. This book is written just like Bitter is the New Black and just as funny. I highly recommend!

I'm going to use a big ol' cliche and say that this book is laugh out loud funny. Jen Lancaster's hysterical running commentary on life as she falls from her white collar job to barely making minimum wage made this a quick, enjoyable read. She has two other books out currently, though I personally would recommend spacing them out with other books in between. Too much of a good thing and all that. Thumbs up!...less

I just didn't love this book. I even think I fell out of like with it along the way. It was waaaay too many pages for so little a story. There's an attempt at a build up to some sort of climax, but it sort of falls flat and kind of limps down into a conclusion. It's all based on Chicago politics and each character is very thinly veiled as a real person. Any reader who lives in Chicago will know who most of the "characters" are supposed to be, based soley on catching any morning newscast or article in the Sun Times or Tribune. I hate to give a bad review, but I had to force myself to finish this (due in large part to my OCD-esque habit of needing to finish any book that I start, no matter how bad) and in the end, I was left completely unsatisfied. ...less

David Sedaris is back again - more of his classic stuff. Dry, sarcastic, hysterical commentary on the most banal of activities and events in life. I can't get enough from him. One of the great things about reading Sedaris books is that you don't have to start with the first one to understand them all. You can begin anywhere in his collection and move around and you'll love every last story. I'm equal parts terrified and intrigued of his family. You won't be disappointed with David Sedaris!...less
