I received this as a FirstReads book and couldn't wait to read & review it! I really enjoyed getting the WWII perspective as it waged on Malta, the Mediterranean Island. I had no idea what this small, densely populated then British colony had gone through and am amazed. And I really appreciated the small doses of the island's history- it was just enough! I thought the dialogue was well written. The mystery to me wasn't as intense as I thought it should be- it seemed to lack something. Overall I enjoyed the story.
