          <body><![CDATA[I think The Razor's Edge is an Amazing and important story. I've read a lot of Maugham and thinks his style and his storytelling are among the best the 20th Century produced ( See also Ford Madox Ford).<br/><br/>Philip is a frustrating character, but i think he's meant to be that way. One of Maugham's favorite themes is human indecision and weakness. ]]></body>

The Stand did a lot to put his name there. I think like a lot of prolific and popular artists ( Think Springsteen and Elton John) , there's &quot;Classic Period&quot;. For King this would include The Stand, Dead Zone, Salem's Lot,  and Stand By Me.<br/><br/>Then he wrote Pet Semetary and Cujo and I thought he had lost the spark and I stopped reading him. .           <body><![CDATA[Daniel Deronda by George Eliot. Made we want to gouge my eyes out so I could never read more of the interminable, smug , and self satisfied writing. I was also forced to read Middlemarch in college. Horrible.<br/><br/>I was an English major and pride myself on reading most of Dickens and Austen.
