I was really excited to read this third book knowing that it's also a prequel to the other two. I must say I was disappointed, it was monotonous and just never seemed to get going until about the last 50 or 60 pages. The only saving grace is the message that I believe was implied, which if I say will give away the entire book. It is a fast read since it's juvenile and it's quite interesting at the end, so I would say if you don't mind wading through some fairly boring stuff to get to something pretty interesting than give it a try....less

I thought this was going to be a not so great murder mystery, because it takes place mostly in Greenwich, CT with a bunch of richy, rich couples. But it did turn out to be interesting and a fun little twist at the end. You also did get to see the not so wonderful side of people with lots of money to burn. Just because you have money doesn't mean a darn thing when it comes right down to it. Sofie is the main focus of the book, with many secondary characters as well. Sofie is portrayed as a weak person, but wait until you see what she's really like...!...less

WARNING: Do not read this book if you are offended by erotic sexual content.
This book has every erotic notion you can possibly think of, but also a suspenseful storyline that become really interesting at the end. What is The Channel, and who really runs it?? That becomes quite apparent at the end. But what you get for the price you are paying for this fantasy is more than worth it!...less

This was a really interesting book set in the not too distant future with a world ruled by United Corporations. Everyone has everything they need, but that also brings a total monotony to their lives. Until Outback Adventures appears for a select few that are looking for more, including Daniel Dyson. This select group get to go to Australia for the adventure of a lifetime and the cost is a years salary. The catch is that Australia had been struck with a plague and is now desolate, an undiscovered country pretty much. As time goes on during Daniel's trip he realizes that he's not one of the only select few that are there. The "morally impaired" are there as well. It becomes a twisted run for his life to get back to where he came from, except did United Corporations ever want any of these people to really come back???...less

This is actually the first Cussler I have read that was not a Dirk Pitt novel. I haven't read any of his other Oregon books. I really liked this book, it was really exciting and suspenseful. Lots of non stop action, as is his usual. Also had a really interesting story line that was actually a bit creepy since this isn't too far off from the truth, it could happen in some way or another. Too bad not all places that you work for don't have the same commraderie as "The Corporation" does. ...less
