The truth is, in order to heal we need to tell our stories and have them witnessed...The story itself becomes a vessel that holds us up, that sustains, that allows us to order our jumbled experiences into meaning.
As I told my stories of fear, awakening, struggle, and transformation and had them received, heard, and validated by other women, I found healing.
I also needed to hear other women's stories in order to see and embrace my own. Sometimes another woman's story becomes a mirror that shows me a self I haven't seen before. When I listen to her tell it, her experience quickens and clarifies my own. Her questions rouse mine. Her conflicts illumine my conflicts. Her resolutions call forth my hope. Her strengths summon my strengths. All of this can happen even when our stories and our lives are very different.

The carved images on the early Minoan sealstones are tantalising, inscrutable. The Nature Goddess is yanked from the soil like a snake or a sheaf of barley; the Mistress of the Animals suckles goats and gazelles. There are male Adorants certainly - up on tiptoe, their outstretched arms hoisted in a kind of heil, their bodies arched suggestively, pelvis forward, before the Goddess - but there are no masculine deities, not a single one in sight. No woman worth her salt, one might think, could fail to be intrigued.Alison Fell

“Eleanor was right. She never looked nice. She looked like art, and art wasn't supposed to look nice; it was supposed to make you feel something.”
Rainbow Rowell, Eleanor & Park

“The dolphins play, the whales sing: the unicorn dances. . . The Charm of the Unseen, the Barely Seen, the Hidden, descends cryptically upon all sentient beings. Your Blessed Charisma, Grateful Goddess, whether waxing or waning never ceases to amaze us. Voices of Myraids of choirs rise in sonorous exaltation and fill the Heavens with their ringing adoration. We bow with rapture to Your Serene Majesty - Divine Enchantress. Return to us always.”
Lady Svetlana

Thomas Merton
“The beginning of love is the will to let those we love be perfectly themselves, the resolution not to twist them to fit our own image.”
Thomas Merton, The Way of Chuang Tzu

Josephine Angelini
“She had power
over the most magnificent
forces on Earth, but she still
didn’t feel like she had power
over the most important thing
of all—her own heart.”
Josephine Angelini, Goddess

Zeena Schreck
“Always remember, wherever you are, whether near or far, you had a mother who really, really loved you. The original mother. Once you've found your true inner guru you can never again be divided. Perfect union with the divine, through the grace of your real teacher, transcends time, space, death and all worldly limitations. Your real teacher is the original mother - regardless in which manifest or non-manifest form, or gender, she appears. The one who nurtures you and the one who also, out of wisdom and compassion, corrects you if you are misguided.”
Zeena Schreck
