This book totally cured me of "Not Doing Any Exercise Ever." I have always been drawn to Yoga but I have never wanted to do it in a big room with other people and little mats.
The book has easy to interpret descriptions of a bunch of positions as well as some fairly "non-hippie-dippy" interpretations of what they can do for you. Several pages of coherent "sample routines" put the positions into a sequence that I could easily put into effect.
Now I can do a little work on flexibility and strength any time I find a shady place in the grass or a space on my own floor. Best of all, I can do it myself.

I had a great time reading this one. It was everything I love about GGM. The characters were heartbreakingly realistic because of their unbelievable paths of life. The lines drawn between Love and Cholera became more poetic with each chapter, right up until the final page. I enjoyed the ending as much as the meat of the story and felt it was truly finished, only after the last sentence.

Sweet! This book is required reading for anyone who plays music in bars. It explores the various personality types (quite accurately, in my experience) of music venue owners. The book has a casual yet seemingly scientific approach to the life cycle of a "happening" music venue. It is no coincidence that the bar you used to love to frequent for live music is now a lame hipster hang out with no style. In fact, it's part of the life cycle of a bar! Insightful and helpful. ]]>
