<about>My favorite hobby is photography, I enjoy seeing everyday objects as somewhat of an art form. I also like to read, hence the reason that I'm on this site. I like a good movie, a good tv show, and soaking in the jacuzzi, but I also love the outdoors. I have a myriad of outdoor hobbies, and I enjoy the beach, the ocean, and traveling down south. Even though I live in Virginia, my favorite hangouts are the "Outer Banks" area of North Carolina, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I hope to one day soon move to either of those locations. I also love sports, and I am a true sports fan. I'm easy to get along with and friendly, so drop me a line if your reading the same book that I am or if you happen to have any of the same interests!</about>

Two books to pick up are "Inherent Vice" by Thomas Pynchon, and "House" by Frank E. Peretti and Ted Dekker. Pick up either of these books..or both of these books.. and chime in :)

1) Inherent Vice:

Part noir, part psychedelic romp, all Thomas Pynchon— private eye Doc Sportello comes, occasionally, out of a marijuana haze to watch the end of an era as free love slips away and paranoia creeps in with the L.A. fog

It’s been awhile since Doc Sportello has seen his ex-girlfriend. Suddenly out of nowhere she shows up with a story about a plot to kidnap a billionaire land developer whom she just happens to be in love with. Easy for her to say. It’s the tail end of the psychedelic sixties in L.A., and Doc knows that “love” is another of those words going around at the moment, like “trip” or “groovy,” except that this one usually leads to trouble. Despite which he soon finds himself drawn into a bizarre tangle of motives and passions whose cast of characters includes surfers, hustlers, dopers and rockers, a murderous loan shark, a tenor sax player working undercover, an ex-con with a swastika tattoo and a fondness for Ethel Merman, and a mysterious entity known as the Golden Fang, which may only be a tax dodge set up by some dentists.

In this lively yarn, Thomas Pynchon, working in an unaccustomed genre, provides a classic illustration of the principle that if you can remember the sixties, you weren’t there . . . or . . . if you were there, then you . . . or, wait, is it . . .

2) House:

A mind-bending supernatural thriller from the creators of This Present Darkness and Showdown.

Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker - two of the most acclaimed writers of supernatural thrillers - have joined forces for the first time to craft a story unlike any you've ever read. Enter House - where you'll find yourself thrown into a killer's deadly game in which the only way to win is to lose...and the only way out is in.

The stakes of the game become clear when a tin can is tossed into the house with rules scrawled on it. Rules that only a madman - or worse - could have written. Rules that make no sense yet must be followed.

One game. Seven players. Three rules. Game ends at dawn.
