This is my first Dawkins read, surprisingly enough. It was dense, at least for a grad of the Humanities, but nonetheless a quite thorough and reasonable walk through of the basics of evolution. My interest in the subject was piqued after I ended up taking Freshman Biology as my last class in undergrad — I was given enough of a scientific overview to not be completely fulfilling and entirely aggravating. Dawkins has a frank and straightforward tone, and even in the sections where I was lost in scientific theory, I was able to gather the broad strokes. Finally, the ending was solidly underwhelming. I felt like there should have been more wrap-up discussion.
