"Fabulous book co-written by a guy who looks at a problem from unique angles, every time. Paired up with a journalist, they offer a fun read on some bizarre "economics issues."

What can you say about a book that completely changes the way you think about food and what you put in your body? To a fellow scientist, providing the empirical data that Campbell does was essential to this being the life-changing book that it is.
I started changing the diet in my household while I was still reading it ... and also realized during the process just _how hard_ it is to find food that is truly good for you in the normal grocery store. (Supporting local farms and agriculture is really the solution.)
If you want to maximize long-term health and wellness from your diet, you will read this book.
(and back it up with works by Michael Pollan, Andrew Weil, and Joel Fuhrman)...less

A book that fundamentally changed the way I felt and thought deep down inside at a time of my life when I needed some sort of metaphysical path.
When you strip away the mathematics from the concepts of quantum mechanics and strong theory, etc., you get a bewildering array of thought-provking images that conjure up those posed by the best koans that Zen has to offer. Eastern mysticism meets modern physics.
You will understand that everything is connected....less

I think subconsciously, I might have named my son after Theo Crowe, the pot-smoking constable from Pine Cove. Bad Erik. :-)
The thing that draws me to Moore's work is the same thing that draws me to Frank Zappa's music and Kevin Smith's movies: self-referentialism. There's another book set in Pine Cove (Practical Demonkeeping?)....less
