This book was really cute. Not the greatest writing, somewhat juvenile, but great story and a great message. I really enjoyed it.

I was excited to read this one, but it was such a dissapointment. There was just too much information. I like hearing about some of the symbols and the architecture, but by the end I was totally skimming. There was a little bit of action put in, but it was too much like his other books to make it interesting to me. Not that great.

What a great book and what a remarkable man. I didn't really know that much about John Adams except that he was the 2nd president and that he helped with the revolution, but he did so much more. There are so many qualities about him that just reaffirms to me that he (along with others) were predestined to live and do what they did.
I loved the love that was shared between him and his wife Abigale. THey were apart so often in their marraige, and yet they continued to share everything. They seemed to write at least one letter to each other almost every day . I loved that they shared everything with each other, and that John Adams relied on her for all decisions that he made. She was an incredible woman as well. She was as smart as her husband and could keep up with him in every way.
I also admired how frugally they lived their lives. Even when he was president, they didn't give in to extravegances. They were never in debt their whole lives, and they were so humble.
John Adams was a great admirer of education. He believed that educating people was the way to solve a lot of problems the country faced, and I couldn't agree more. I love how even though his body failed him in the end, his mind never deteriorated at all. I attribute it to his continually reading, and writing letters and constantly taxing his mind to learn more. In our day of t.v. and the internet, I find it even more important to constantly exercising the mind (something I definatly need to work harder at).
I found his relationship with Thomas Jefferson fascinating. I love how despite their differences and all the Thomas Jefferson did to Adams, that they died as friends. And that they both died on July 4th, exactly 50 years from the birth of our nation. They were both amazing men, but I think Adams was the greater one. He was no saint, and he made many mistakes and he was known for having a temper and for being vain, but the things he accomplished were incredible. The thoughts that he had about the country and freedom wree so amazing and I only wish that a quarter of our politicians today could have those same thoughts. It makes me sad to see how far our country has fallen. If only it could always be led by men like John Adams. An incredible book and what an incredible life!!!

This book was a fabulous read. It was so heart-breaking, and courageous. I loved reading about the three women and the courage it took to do what they did. It was hard to read at times, just because of the content. I can't imagine feeling the way some people felt back then. Hilly's bathroom initiative blew me away. How anyone could think such awful things is beyond me. But I didn't grow up in the south. I think Aibleen's story told it best, about how the kids just get brainwashed from the time they are young to think less of different people. It broke my heart to see how Miss Leefolt treated her kids and I can't imagine having someone else raise my kids. The book really opened my mind to how things were back then.

I really liked this book. It was totally clean and really funny. i love the two main characters, and I love the old ladies. I totally laughed out loud at quite a few parts (my kids think I'm totally weird). I loved the ending too, and after the ending I had to go back a read a bunch of parts, which I don't normally do in books. It was great!
