For fans of the slightly off-kilter, more in depth variety of fantasy/sci-fi/comics...though by no means limited to specifically those genres. If you ...more

"Well Taylor, I'm not sure who you are but contradictions can definitely be interesting. From you're reading selection and ratings you seem to be a gay (stonewall), christian (high ratings on C.S. Lewis), elitist, capitalist (Rand), subversive liberal (Klien) with good taste (Perfume)."
All of the above.
I am gay, I was raised in a conservative born-again chrisitan home (although I am now atheist), I am a bit of an elitist and very pro-capitalist, and yet I feel the need to not necessarily fight against the machine, but work within it for the betterment.
You missed one contradiction though. I am an advertising design major (seen in my readership of ad only books). And yet I'm a big fan of the book NO LOGO which is anti-branding/marketing as featured in one of my fav documentaries "The Corporation."
Yet you missed one point. Just because I read it doesn't mean I follow it. I think the most despicable human being is the one that is so egotistical that they are totally unwilling to even consider for a moment that their direct opponent or oppoisite may be the one that is right. To that end, I always try to at least (as fairly as I can) investigate the reasoning (if there is any) behind the other person's side.
The only book/short story that I have read so far that I feel has absolutely no merit. Is Kafka's Metamorphosis. Existential books have never held merit for me.
Hey I wasn't getting updates for a couple weeks but that's fixed now. I've been getting involved with other projects and working a lot so my reading has suffered. I've got about 100 pages left of -A Darkness at Sethanon- and I've been reading it for about 6 weeks now.
