Cormac McCarthy has created a post-apocalyptic wasteland, a world covered in ash. A few remaining people wander through the burnt countryside, succumbing to despair and savagery. In the midst of this world without hope travel a father and son. Heading towards the coast, they hope to find some place warm to settle, even as they are on the brink of starvation. Make sure you have someone to hug after you read this work. McCarthy's beautifully written novel will break you heart even as it gives you one last little sliver of hope on the last page....less
