It was nice to read a memoir where the writer loved and respected his parents and rejoices in the life lessons they taught him. A good look back at a simpler time. Its a fun, quick read that will leave you feeling good. Cal

Les Mis was Pres. Kimball's favorite book outside of the scriptures. The message of hope and redemption and the power of the individual to do good are the things I like about it. Cal

Aubrey, this was Pres. Kimball's favorite book. I bought it in French on my mission after I heard him say that. No, I have never read it in French, only English. Love, Dad

I have enjoyed everything I've read from this author (esp. Gap Creek) but this is the first biography of his that I have read and he has done a masterful job. I thought I pretty much knew the Daniel Boone story but I learned a ton and it was fasinating reading. Highly rec. this one.

Interesting and engaging. Reads like fiction and gives a whole lot of info on the Amazon and the early explorers of it, esp. Percy Faucett.

I have had a lot of fun reading these teen books by Richard Peck. Sometimes I just need a fun, quick read. These have been great. I've read A Long Way from Chicago , A Year Down Yonder and The Teacher's Funeral. thanks to Blake (I thing) for introducing me to them.

What a great life but also a wonderful window into the lives of those who influenced him. A great example of how history can be changed by the actions and words of one person.
