Though I haven't read his previous two efforts, THE TIPPING POINT and BLINK (which I hear-tell are better) I imagine OUTLIERS is not dissimilar. Engaging, breezily written, just enough "fact" and "data" to make it seem factual and accurate but frustratingly fuzzy right about where you want it to drive home its point with an iron-clad railroad spike. Perhaps it's simply the nature of the subject. A good book to read to have something to chit-chat about at a cocktail party. You learn that Asians are good at math because of rice. The best Canadian hockey players are born in the first three months of the year. And that The Beatles are The Beatles because they used to play in a strip club in Germany. Sort of. Ultimately, probably a book that is easier to read than it is actually worth the read but it's fun nonetheless. A recommend for sure. ]]>
