So I finished this book in about two days. I have to say I loved the theme of the book, relegion, faith. Love and Loyalty. The story was narrated throughout by Petey and at times, I was a bit confused at the time he was describing. The present or past, but It kept me entertained and wanting to know more. I did think that the characters could have been developed and explored a bit more. All in all I liked the story and the message.

Can't Wait to receive this FIRST READ!! Thanks for picking me.

Okay so I started this last night and read for an hour straight. I Love the narration of this book. The author has Petey Kane tell the story of his life from second grade to his third tour of duty in Iraq.

I became invested in the Love that Petey and Pia shared so deeply, but never explored after senior prom changed them and the town forever.

WOW I was not expecting the last 40 pages or so. I have to admit, although there was some mystery in this book, trying to find out Mrs. Corbett's son's last phone call, I felt there was not much happening. Then the last pages emerged and I was blindsided by what George uncovered. His whole existence was questioned and altered by what he learned.
The essence of New York was definetely captured in this novel and you could imagine what George was doing.

I just finished this last night and have so say I thouroughly enjoyed the characters of Lucas and Joy. They both were searching to "find" themselves in a way and escape their realities. I loved Joy's Gypsy background and strong sense of Family. When she sets eyes on Lucas, she knows he will be the ONE some day. With her Gypsy family Issues and Lucas' issues from Iraq they end up complimenting each other and helping to hear.
I LOVED it!
Thanks for making me a FIRST READ winner!
