everything you wanted to every know about mormons.. i was pleasantly surprised by this book b/c the author seems to have gone over his genre re subject. I found this in the true crime section of the library!

Unlike Kingdom of the cults, the author tells about mormon history and present, without it landing into rhetoric or flying over my head.

I am especially impressed with how he connected a thread thruout the book, demonstrating how the violence and polygamy really is a result of the Mormon faith. NO matter how much that church denies it.

I'm still astounded that anyone can follow a religion who changed it's beliefs so they could find favor with the government! However, the author of Twilight is a mormon so I guess anything is possible..

A good story, interesting time in American hist surrounding the emergence of Joseph Smith..well researched/supported.

I listened to this on audio and it was a great way to learn history while i had to do other things! The author makes what could easily be bland, intriguing.

Also an interesting time period of America, with Truman the president who wasn't elected the first time, and..the shift from isolationism.
