I put this book down after reading the first 75 pages. While I am hugely interested in the subject matter, I could not get past the terrible writing of James Kunstler. His incessant ranting and biased views overpower what little semblance there is of an informative insight on the deevolution of the American city. From what I've heard, his previous book the Geography of Nowhere is a far better read. I hope that that book has some substance, because despite my agreeance on seveal opinions of the author, his writing was so cynical, offensive, and obnoxious that it was truly unreadable.
