Such an exciting story, but Rove is too interested in the minutiae. I get it that he finds the rough and tumble interesting. But I would have liked more judgement on the big questions. His last pages were the best. Glad I read it

Listened to this in the car. Made me want to know more about the end of Victorian England. But did not much like the story.

I enjoyed this. Not as expansive as Caro. And lots of stuff not dug into as deeply as I would like. And not enough distance. But I buy his conclusion--most underrated President. You have to come away liking him.

The wife says I am only donig it to be contrary, but I liked this more than To Kill A Mockingbird (which I like a lot). It might have been written better, but I liked it. Will have to think some more on it.

I knew almost nothing about Kissinger. Indeed though I was ten years old when Saigon fell, I have no memory whatsoever of the Vietnam War. We lived overseas and then did not have a TV for at least four years when we lived in Houston.

This was a good book. I am interested in intelligence and this was a nice diversion from that. Also helps me understand my wife -- who is an introvert. This could have been a long New Yorker article.
