i was 16 when i read this, and i wanted to gouge my eyes out by the time i finally finished. the prose is way too florid for my liking, with the author spending pages describing scents and tastes.
i'm not sorry i stuck it out and finished, but i doubt i'll attempt any of the other titles in the cycle. ]]>
