This one is a page turner! It was so scary! The end of the world and you don't get to pick who you are stuck with or do you? I don't want to give anything else away. If you like reading about the end of the world well this one is a good. This book was suspenseful but not really too accurate when it came to portraying what midwives and all home births are like. The author did do a lot of research but then fell back on the old stereotype of midwives being hippies. They aren't all hippies and mother's that use midwives are not all hippies. We all don't smoke pot and wear long dresses.
The story was told from a 13 yr. old perspective and here again he fell into a stereotype, all teenagers think about is sex with their boyfriends and they all smoke pot and drink. oh and they all lie to their their parents. Whatever! Other then that the book takes an interesting look into a courtroom and how the jury is picked. It also takes an interesting look at doctors vs. midwives...safer in a hospital or at home? Statistics tell us you gamble either way and mother nature takes it course.
