I loved Oryx and Crake, and when I realized this was a parallel story to that one, I was very happy. I enjoyed this book, mostly because I love utopian/dystopian novels, and I thought it was very interesting. I think you kind of need to read Oryx and Crake first though, to really understand it.

I haven't read the rest of the series, but I loved this one and can't wait to read more of them. I liked the storyline of Reese and Tory, but I did think the storyline with Rica and Carter was a bit jumbled at the end -- but I still really liked it! I can't wait to read the others.

Something I like about reading lesbian fiction is that with older books, you get a sense of what the community was like in a different time and place. In this case, there was a lot of discussion of 1970s Denver, which was interesting. I liked the book for that part, but the actual mystery/storyline was a little hard to follow.
