This was quite an adventure. The beginning and the ending are really strong, but there is a bit of a lull in the middle before it picks back up. I felt like at some points it was just the same things being rehashed.

Christina is 52% done with The Dolls: Ugh. They have "feelings" for each other after only 4 very brief interactions that usually resulted in one of them running off. And, of course, it's forbidden.

I really enjoyed the narrative of this book. The inner monologue was hilarious at times and the rambling was eerily similar to mine.

Of course, there was a lot of mean girl stuff thrown in. But I really struggled with the racial slurs and that pesky...more

“I don't think you realize who you're dealing with."
The man clicked his tongue, "If you were that good, you would be more than just Captain of the Guard."
Chaol let out a low, breathy laugh. "I wasn't talking about me."
"She's just one girl."
Though his guts were twisting at the thought of her in this place, with these people, though he was considering every possible way to get himself and Celaena out of here alive, he gave the man a grin. "Then you're really in for a big surprise.”
Sarah J. Maas, Crown of Midnight

Robyn Schneider
“If everything really does get better, the way everyone claims, then happiness should be graphable. But that's crap, because better isn't quantifiable.”
Robyn Schneider, The Beginning of Everything

Kasie West
“A lot of people don’t get my humor. My mom calls it dry humor. I think that means “not funny,” but it also means I’m the only one who ever knows it’s a joke.”
Kasie West, The Distance Between Us

Paula Stokes
“Nothing stings quite like an unanswered text message.”
Paula Stokes, The Art of Lainey

“To me, Mother Nature isn't nearly as scary as human nature.”
