"Love is a temporary madness, it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides, you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion, it is not the desire to mate every second minute of the day, it is not lying awake at night imagining that he is kissing every cranny of your body. No, don't blush, I am telling you some truths. That is just being "in love", which any fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident."

"Every person has the power to make others happy.
Some do it simply by entering a room --
others by leaving the room.
Some individuals leave trails of gloom;
others, trails of joy.
Some leave trails of hate and bitterness;
others, trails of love and harmony.
Some leave trails of cynicism and pessimism;
others trails of faith and optimism.
Some leave trails of criticism and resignation;
others trails of gratitude and hope.
What kind of trails do you leave?”

Bad doggie! Bad doggie! Sarah will have to clean up the mess you made at the game now. You can poop all you want, we've won two in a row...
Thank You to all as I become the first dog on Goodreads to have over 1,000 friends! I'm getting close! Have your friends add me, won't you? Make my dream come true! (or I will poop on your rug)
Hello, Warren!
Thanks for the friend request..
I love dogs too!!
They're my most loyal best friends XD
Smiles,
Maya
Warren, I love the new moniker(s)! You're becoming quite the celebrity here on GoodReads.
Next thing you know you'll have your own reality TV show. I can see it now, on the Science Channel, "Warren's Feces of the Species: Travel around the world with Warren as he identifies with unfailing accuracy feces of every size, color, shape, and smell. You too will be a fecal expert after watching Warren!"
With all the picture changes, why not go the whole hog and change your name? Like in 'Funes the Memorious' the Borges story, where Funes distinguishes everything as distinct from moment to moment........ Funes says he cannot see why a dog should have the same name from minute to minute.
Nice new pic W-W!
mine doesn't seem to change...but someone's got to hold down the fort here...so I stand for constancy. I sit rather. In my chairs.
W-W: new story posted on my page just for you! It features a cute Jack Russell terrier..[I'm saving my dog-napping story for a later posting].
I thought of you both today as I was reading LOVE OVER SCOTLAND by Alexander McCall Smith.
------SPOILER INFORMATION AHEAD------------------
It was so agonizing for me when Cyril was dognapped. The reunion scene had me grinning like an idiot while crying with joy at the same time.
hi! Warren.. or Walter..
anyway, want to say tx tor iviting me here
have a great reading time!
ENJOY :)
Warren-Walter:
you sure know how to make a cat-lover soften her heart toward dogs! first the new pic in technicolor, then you're telling me you love my surname!
you're a flatterer for sure W-W,
your friend,
chairwoman.
Love dogs! Have two Italian Greyhounds I'm obsessed with and found some great reads on your shelves! Thanks for the add:)
Walter! It's like watching the Wizard of Oz when it suddenly goes from black and white to color!
I see your true colors shining through...and I think of doggie breath so much more now that I see that tongue in all its glory...
Menthos or those little strips that dissolve? Which do you prefer?
Please don't say poop.
:-)
Now I will never be able to stop in again at either Arby's or my fave deli for a Reuben, thanks to Walter!!
I will imagine i taste "m.t." on it...
Only you know what that means, Walter!!
CAVE CANEM, indeed!!
Warren-Walter, you're amazing! How do you find time to read all these dog-eared books you keep posting?! When do you get your cat-chasing, snoozing, tail-thumping, bone-digging time in?
Indeed you must be: secret cat lovers. I'd give the book 4 stars... I am not a secret cat lover but one who is happily out of the closet...won't you join me? Walter (or Warren)& Nancy avec les chats????
--your I-like-dogs-but-not-nearly-so-much-as-cats friend,
JT.
We both gave 5 stars to "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time". How could we, as dog lovers, so enjoy a story where the dog ends up badly?
Could we secretly be cat-lovers and living in denial?
Here's another quote for your collection:
"Dogs need to sniff the ground; it's how they keep abreast of current events. The ground is a giant dog newspaper, containing all kinds of late-breaking dog news items, which, if they are especially urgent, are often continued in the next yard."
-Dave Barry
Warren/Walter, your selection of dog tales/tails is impressive and inspiring. You're giving my little brown dog ideas for our home library and story times. (He is an attentive listener.)
