"Clark Ashton Smith's stories are fantastic. August Derleth, although I hoped the rumours weren't true, is too much like bad fan-fiction and clunky to read. It's funny how much like fan fiction it all is, actuall, especially when Lovecraft himself is mentioned within these stories as a source for characters trying to survive or investigate." "Have been putting off reading Vonnegut for a long

Galápagos by Kurt Vonnegut
"I've read most all of the Vonnegut's at this point, and this is undoubtedly one of the best. An ironic look at evolution based on a twist to the Gilligan's island premise. Basically, a group travelers stranded on the islands are forced to breed to..." Read more of this review »

A great collection of delectably written Lovecraftian nightmares, journeying from lethal frozen wastes to the oppressive heat of the desert, taking in an artist studio and a corrupt research university along the way.

Brilliant. A warm, smart, despairing, uplifting, upsetting, idealistic, and cynical examination of the end of the world...sort of.
