Honestly, I take reviewing very seriously. In rating a book I've read, I'm interested in what it's done for the genre, how it compares to what else the author's written, and what it meant at time of publication. If this seems obvious to you, then I'd love to talk books with you.

I prefer the rating system I've seen on YouTube, where the guide to the five stars is not a simple spectrum of "like", but asks the rater to consider whether it was worth watching. Only at 3 stars out of 5 is the video even considered "worth watching".
