This book was pretty good. There were some theological issues but other than that it was a nice, simple testimony of Jesus.

This book was a little slower than I expected and it didn't tell me very much more about Tolkien than I already knew. Altogether though, not a bad read

This was a fun little book. I enjoyed being able to read some of the stories that were hinted at in The Chronicles of Prydain.

The more I read about J.R.R. Tolkien the more I like him. I liked how this biography showed that in addition to being an amazing writer he was also a very normal person with the same day-to-day experiences and problems as everyone else.

Orson Scott Card
“Everyone dies. Everyone leaves. What matters is the things you build together before they go. What matters is the part of them that continues in you when they're gone.”
Orson Scott Card, Children of the Mind

Angie Sage
“That, dillop brain, is what getting close to the Darke does. It makes you think only of yourself. It takes you away from people you care about. And now you don't have anyone to talk to and it serves you right.”
Angie Sage, Darke

Patrick Rothfuss
“You can divide infinity an infinite number of times, and the resulting pieces will still be infinitely large,” Uresh said in his odd Lenatti accent. “But if you divide a non-infinite number an infinite number of times the resulting pieces are non-infinitely small. Since they are non-infinitely small, but there are an infinite number of them, if you add them back together, their sum is infinite. This implies any number is, in fact, infinite.”
“Wow,” Elodin said after a long pause. He leveled a serious finger at the Lenatti man. “Uresh. Your next assignment is to have sex. If you do not know how to do this, see me after class.”
Patrick Rothfuss, The Wise Man's Fear

Orson Scott Card
“Religion is tied to the deepest feelings people have. The love that arises from that stewing pot is the sweetest and strongest, but the hate is the hottest, and the anger is the most violent.”
Orson Scott Card, Children of the Mind

Patrick Rothfuss
“It had flaws, but what does that matter when it comes to matters of the heart? We love what we love. Reason does not enter into it. In many ways, unwise love is the truest love. Anyone can love a thing because. That's as easy as putting a penny in your pocket. But to love something despite. To know the flaws and love them too. That is rare and pure and perfect.”
Patrick Rothfuss, The Wise Man's Fear
