I started out enjoying the book and really got involved in the author's story and her family. The last fifty pages, I almost stopped reading it. I think the author is probably better as a reporter than as a writer. The book is laden with metaphors, which truly annoy me. Plus, there is sloppy editing, especially in the acknowledgements. Two names are spelled incorrectly, one of them being a relative of the author.
There are far better written Holocaust stories than this one....less
