this is a very life-consuming book... you want to read it all in one sitting but it's pretty long and complicated, so you take breaks.. but then you keep wondering about it... and it's all you think about.. and the darkness inside your half open closet door begins to seem sinister.. you start looking at your bedroom ceiling and wondering if it's always been that high, if you'd notice whether it had extended or lowered an inch...
