<about>Arty person who was thrust in the direction of the Sciences as a student but switched to the Arts (amazing days in Paris)and found herself!
I wrote my first play when I was eight and commandeered my brother and sister to play roles in it; we recorded it on an old reel to reel tape recorder and used our Parents' Captive House Guests as our audience.
I wrote for television for a few years and began writing The Life in the Wood with Joni-Pip in 1997 while staying in Sherwood Forest (Robin Hood Country). Sadly my husband was killed in an accident in 2000, so I stopped writing for several years: I thought I would never write another creative word again.
Encouraged by so many, I resumed work on Joni-Pip and finally finished it in September of 2007.
Joni-Pip is a Quest....a Quission, actually....both a Quest and a Mission. The story opens during the Second World War in the beautiful English City of Bath but then transfers to Sherwood Forest (of course). Joni-Pip is spoilt, ungrateful and brattish but she receives a visit from three strangers: a teenage girl and two boys who change her life. She enters a new and exciting world and discovers the secrets of the Stars, the Kaleidoscope of Life, The Wall of Time, The Observatory of Memories Unknown and loads more. She also finds out that it is possible to change the Past to make a better Future.
A Critic once said Joni-Pip is as light as Harry Potter is dark....find out for yourself! www.thelifeinthewood.com </about>

Thank you sooooooooooooooo much, Dave!

I included one by Timothy Scott Gore in Book One. I should post it in the December contest. He is an American Poet and I named a character after him in the the Plot! Perhaps I should name a new character David J !

Book Two will be for sale when I have finished writing it!!!

I was a guest at Bletchley Park (Home of the Code Breakers in WW2), earlier this month and they asked me to include Bletchley Park in Book Two, as Joni-Pip is based in 1942 (and spans 3 Centuries of Jitting ((Jumping in Time)) ), so I have re-written the book so far to incorporate BP....that's put me back a bit....but I will let you know as soon as I have written the part that includes your Beautiful Sonnet (with your acknowledgement and name under it, of course, Dave).

All the best for the contest!

Carrie
