"There are fun recipes and ideas in here, so I'm trying to forgive her for the inclusion of a recipe "for those days when you want to spend some time together in the kitchen before school." I mean, WHO. Just really."
The Five Books of Jesus by James Goldberg
"This is one of those rare, amazing books that I would recommend to anyone, that makes me want to buy a stack of copies so I can give one to everyone I know as a Christmas present. I want to interrupt people I see reading other works and say, "That..." Read more of this review »

I loved this book. It was gripping and interesting and personal and about something so crazy and important. Fast paced and not dry at all. This is a great read. (Not sure why it is YA. The length? It is not dumbed down or anything.)
Bomb by Steve Sheinkin
"4/26/13 ** Wow! This is history, but told with a strong narrative voice and attention to the quirks, strengths, and foibles of the characters involved. The book essentially follows three story lines - the Americans' and Germans' races to build an..." Read more of this review »

This book was kind of dark, but kind of compelling in its own way. It was really unique and I enjoyed the read. Bod was a great main character.

I hadn't read this since high school, and I checked it out since I'd like to see the movie. I really enjoyed it! (Way more than I did in 10th grade.) Bilbo is such a great, unique main character with unexpected strengths and hilarious weaknesses. Thi ...more
