"This was far more scientific than I thought, it has lots of diagrams and chemistry. However there are still some of those beautiful descriptive passages about various perfumes.

It's hard to recommend what book to start with but I would go with Beauty as it's one of the earlier ones and a favourite of mine. If you like it,it would be interesting to see what you think of Rose Daughter as it was written later and is also inspired by Beauty and the Beast.
The Blue Sword and The Hero and the Crown are really good YA 'fantasies'.
You might also try Sunshine as so many people seem to adore it, but it does polarise her fans.
And on 'fairytale fiction' I'm currently reading Angela Carter's 'The Bloody Chamber' and Juliet Marillier's 'Wildwood dancing' and they're really good so far.
Hi Alice!
I was just wondering, which Robin McKinley novel would you recommend me most? I'd like to start a journey into her work cos I love that 'fairytale fiction' stuff, but I dont want to be disappointed enough to stop trying her other books on the first read!
