None of the characters were particularly likable, but they felt genuine, and I can appreciate that.

Loved "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption" and "The Body". Incredibly disturbed by "Apt Pupil". "The Breathing Method" was just weird. I love an author who can evoke such a wide range of emotions and reactions to his work.

Sitting down to write a review of this book, I don't quite know where to start.

Bernard M. Baruch
“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.”
Bernard M. Baruch

Marianne Williamson
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of "A Course in Miracles"

Ray Bradbury
“You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them.”
Ray Bradbury

Dalai Lama XIV
“Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.”
Dalai Lama XIV

F. Scott Fitzgerald
“So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.”
F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
